To use the location feature, you must enable geo tagging of photos on your phone. On Android this can be set to either a precise location... or a general location for more privacy.
Once the photo is scanned and BEFORE you submit the data, you can opt not to share the location data via the settings button by the location field.
Regarding location, this app will record
The location note you submit (may be pre-filled, so adjust it as needed)
The zip code of the photo location (when geo tagging / location sharing is enabled)
Additional info such as address / latitude / longitude ONLY with your permission.
Your IP address will recorded for spam prevention reasons, but it will be deleted within 7 days of submission.
For maximum privacy, use a VPN or VPN enabled browser such as the Firefox VPN Extension
Be aware: This app relies on the use of a public LLM (AI Large Language Model), the LLM will be shown your photograph WITHOUT any EXIF tags or location or date/time info or any info about the photographer. It will be asked to determine the type of vehicle and read the license plate.
How to Use This Scanner
(optional) Enable geotagging of photos on your device to avoid manual location entry
Take a photo using camera icon (iOS only) or use "select photo"
Try to capture the whole vehicle and make sure the plate is in focus
After upload, use the crop feature to remove any bystanders from the image
(optional) If the photo is not geotagged, the app will ask you to share your location when uploading. If you consent, your location will be used to pre-fill the location field, and depending on your privacy settings the precise coordinates may be sent with the report.

It will save you time but it can make mistakes
You must check and correct any errors before submitting
It will also search for matches to existing vehicle reports, use the photo comparison tools to make sure these are the same before draing any conclusions.
To save time, you can copy information from a previous report to your new report if it is more accurate than what the Antifreeze Bot determined.
This is a mobile first application, it supports swipe motions to move between matches and between full screen images, as well as pinch to zoom on photos.
When your report is complete, click Confirm and Submit to be redirected to the final step. Where you can review the data and submit it officially, this is your last chance to make any corrections.
